Entry Criteria:


To apply for this course, you must meet the following requirements:


  • Be at least 18 years of age to commence training
  • Have the unrestricted right to live and work in the European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland
  • Hold a minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent*) in different subjects at grade C or above, which must include Maths, Science and English Language.
  • Be able to demonstrate that you have successfully completed secondary or high school education (or equivalent)
  • Be fluent in English (verbal and written)**
  • Produce a criminal record check (CRC) basic disclosure certificate before training can commence
  • Minimum height 5 ft. 2 in. (157 cm), maximum height 6 ft. 3 in. (191 cm)***
  • Be able to obtain an EASA Class 1 Medical without restrictions

** For non-native English speakers, you will be required to present a certificate prior to training commencement demonstrating you have achieved International English Language Testing System (IELTS) or an equivalent of at Level 5.5 overall, with no less than 5.5 in any individual area (Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking). This must be the Academic test, not General Training.   


Any non-native English speakers will need to undertake an assessment at a CAA approved ELP Testing Organisation (see CAA Standards Document No. 31) for a formal assessment of their English language Proficiency level prior to license issue.


*** Applicants should be between 1.58 m (5ft. 2 in.) to 1.91 m (6ft. 3 in.) in height. Applicants who fall outside of this may still apply; however, they will be required to undergo an ergonomic assessment in our training aircraft and jet flight simulators prior to being accepted into a course. Some airlines may impose strict height limits in accordance with the range shown, which could preclude applicants from placement with that airline post-CPL/IR if they fall outside this height range.


  • Your application will be screened by a member of our selection team.
  • You will be contacted by email by our selection team to inform you whether your application has been successful.
  • If successful you will be asked to complete 4 online assessment tests at a cost of £40.00
  • If successful, you will be invited to attend a selection day at a cost of £255.00. These usually take place at the L3 Crew Resourcing & Selection Center – Dibden Manor, UK.
